Two New Recent Roles on Professional Committees

Having been selected last year as the treasurer of the Greater Cincinnati Board of Rabbis, I am proud to share with you two new professional committee roles into which I have been selected.

The first took place back in May, which was being named the secretary of the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee of Majestic Care. Having served on this committee since July 2022, following their acquisition of Cedar Village, where I have been serving for the past three-plus years as the Director of Pastoral Care (and since summer 2022, the Director of Jewish Life and Pastoral Care), it was kind of Bernie McGuinness, the CEO at the time, to invite me onto the committee. Now, however, it was certainly kind of the committee to elect me to this new role. In addition to monthly video-conference meetings, the committee gathers in-person a few times a year, as well. For now, my role consists of taking meeting notes and distributing them to my fellow committee members.

A newer role, just announced today, is becoming the chairman of the Social Media Committee of Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC). Having only joined the committee following the recent conference in May, I have taken part in two monthly video conference meetings. Nevertheless, it was decided that I would serve in the role of chairing the committee (admittedly, I accepted). For now, my role consists of sharing relevant content on NAJC’s Facebook page, which had 20 likes when I began sharing content to the page and has begun growing since that time. Additionally, I will now be chairing our monthly committee meetings going forward, working to share the work of Jewish chaplaincy.

While I have gone after neither of these appointments (nor the GCBOR role), they seem to have found me. I plan on serving these roles diligently and with competence.
