In advance of attending Hillel International’s Global Assembly (HIGA) last week in Boston, Rabbi Drew Kaplan led a class discussion last week at the Lehrhaus on An Introductory Overview of Beer in Judaism.
In addition to it being his first such speaking opportunity there, it was his first such visit to Lehrhaus since it opened. He previously had recorded and published an episode of The Jewish Drinking Show on Lehrhaus with one of its co-founders, Rabbi Charlie Schwartz.
The talk, which considered three Biblical texts on beer, three Talmudic texts on beer, and three post-Talmudic halakhic texts on beer, was well-received by those who attended the evening’s event.
